Unique titanium Deposits of Timan: genesis and age issues

چکیده
The article critically analysesthe hypotheses about the formation, age, and sources of material large Timan titanium deposits, which were previously considered ancient buried placers formed along weathering crusts Riphean shales. We discuss an alternative hydrothermal-metamorphic hypothesis formation these deposits source ore material. It is established that incoming zircon different ages (570-3200 Ma), as well two other geochronometers, rutile monazite, underwent a thermal effect common for all varieties result hydrothermal process 600 Ma ago. According to modern concepts, closing temperature U-Pb system in exceeds 500 °?, suggests high-temperature conditions processing during Riphean.

Genesis of Magnetite Deposits I N the Iron Mask Batholith
Significant magnetite, in the form of dyke-like lodes (Cockfield. 1948). occurs in close spatial relationship to copper deposits such as the Afton mine. The genetic relationship of these massive magnetite lodes to the copper deposits of the Iron Mask is unknown, as i s the origin of the magnetite deposits. However, the proximity of these deposits to magnetite-rich intrusive units of the Iron Ma...

متن کاملPalynology of the Bryn Mawr Formation (Miocene): insights on the age and genesis of Middle Atlantic margin fluvial deposits
The ages of fluvial deposits at the head of Chesapeake Bay, thought to be the updip, chronostratigraphic equivalents of a well-dated late Oligocene to Quatemary marine sequence in the Salisbury Embayment, are poorly known. We present data regarding a new occurrence of a palynoflora recovered from the Bryn Mawr Formation in Cecil County, Maryland. The floral assemblage for the Bryn Mawr Formatio...

متن کاملPalygorskite genesis through silicate transformation in Tunisian continental Eocene deposits
ABST RACT: The mineralogical and geochemical characteristics of Eocene continental sediments in south central Tunisia (Chebket Bouloufa and Jebel Hamri) and in north central Tunisia (Jebel Lessouda and Jebel Rhéouis), which contain considerable amounts of palygorskite, were studied. The clay fraction of the sediments also comprises illite, kaolinite, Mg smectite and Al smectite, together with c...
